Early Childhood

As a Pine Point student in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and first grade, your child will discover a love of learning while mastering the essential building blocks of reading, writing, math, and Spanish, as they find their place in a larger community of learners.

“Education is the most important decision we make for our children, and Pine Point is everything I want for my children: a joyful, enriching environment that values kindness and the excitement of learning.”

Students are the Center

Pine Point has long known that students learn best when they are happy. Our curriculum focuses on children’s social and emotional wellbeing, which allows them to learn at their highest level academically. This is crucial during the earliest years when their foundation is being set. Keeping in mind the whole child helps us create lifelong learners.

Learning Together

Studies have shown, and Pine Point has long known, that the model of combining lower school and middle school is the very best way for young children to learn. Younger students are mentored by older students, and in turn learn to be mentors themselves. Though the curriculum of each grade is unique, students learn in multi-age groups in a variety of ways, which allows for rich academic and social experiences.

Finding Some Magic

Parents and Alumni often describe Pine Point as a magical place. But our faculty know that it’s a magic born of decades of honing our curriculum to provide the very best learning environment for our students to grow and flourish. It means constantly adapting and refining our program to take full advantage of our 67 acre campus and the surrounding beauty of our Connecticut shoreline. And in the end, for our students, it feels a bit like magic.
