Aligning our visuals and messaging with our mission and vision
Throughout the nearly 75 years Pine Point has been educating children we have stayed true to our mission and vision. A quick flip through our archive reveals that our school is, and has always been, alive with meaningful work. It is evident that we educate with purpose through engaged, experiential learning.
“Our mission serves as our North Star. We believe in building a strong academic and ethical core. We know about the importance of cultivating a lifelong curiosity about our world. And we understand, now more than ever, that we must strive to build our students’ ability to reach solutions creatively, collaboratively, and compassionately.”
– Diana Owen, Head of School
Looking through our materials uncovered a second revelation – we were experiencing a visual identity crisis. While logos and colors evolve over time, we were simultaneously using multiple greens, golds, and versions of our seal. Our materials looked dated and our signage was inconsistent in styling. With the support of donors dedicated to helping Pine Point achieve its full potential, we embarked on a year-long exploration of our brand.
After evaluating a variety of options we contracted with Ladybugz Interactive Agency, a small Boston web design firm focused on helping early growth companies optimize their online presence and implement shifts in their marketing. It was a 6-week collaborative discovery process to review materials, survey constituents, analyze, reflect, and ultimately decide upon a set of marketing colors, type, and logos to best represent Pine Point.
Uniquely Pine Point
A well-designed logo is memorable and unique to the organization it represents. Pine Point’s new branding was thoughtfully designed using our specific community and history. Our School’s mission and our sense of place helped guide us. With all this in mind we ultimately chose a design that shows the strength of our community with a nod to our connection to the water, and the golden meadows stretching out into our expansive backyard.
Engaging the Community
Once the look and feel of Pine Point were realized in new visuals, our eyes turned to pinepoint.org. Previously our website needed to serve multiple purposes. In recent years Pine Point has shifted to an online portal for our communications with current families. This shift has enabled us to focus our public-facing school website on enrollment in our Pine Point and Evergreen programs and re-engaging our larger community in anticipation of our 75th anniversary.
In the coming weeks and months, we’ll be implementing our renewed branding across our campus. In the meantime, we invite you to peruse our new website to see the joy and wonder happening at Pine Point each and every day as our students explore, grow, and flourish.
